Modern Majesty began with a simple but deeply personal request: after long days spent in scrubs and the high-stakes environment of surgery, the client wanted to come home and “feel like royalty.”

A highly accomplished spinal surgeon, avid traveler and woman with an incredible sense of personal style, she wanted her primary suite to feel entirely removed from her professional world—a sanctuary where she could rest, recharge and be unapologetically feminine. The goal wasn't simply to create a beautiful bedroom and bath. It was to create the feeling of being transported, bringing some of the indulgence and escapism of a luxury hotel into her everyday life.

The existing suite offered a relatively blank canvas, with generous ceiling heights and beautiful natural light but little architectural character. From there, the design became an exercise in contrast: traditional forms against unexpected color, softness against saturation, and overtly feminine details balanced by more restrained and masculine elements.
